You need to set goals and not make resolutions.
Throughout the years I’ve found that most people who make resolutions usually break them within the first 3 months of making them. They come on like gangbusters then peter out.
What works better is setting goals.
AND write them down.
AND putting a realistic date on them.
AND put them in a place where you will read them every single morning. (Bathroom mirror is a good place.)
AND don’t go to bed every night unless you have done at least 3 things that day towards attaining your goals.
You may say, “Well, I have my goals in my head.” I’ll say to you that you will never accomplish them. I’ve seen so many business men and women fail because they don’t keep their eye on they want to accomplish. They get so wrapped up in the day to day living that they forget why they are doing it.
Every December I sit down and analyze what I’ve done that year, my successes and failures. I question myself as to what worked and what I need to change. The definition of insanity as defined by Albert Einstein is: “Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.” If it’s not working, change it. Sometime change is needed to go forward. Myself I have 3 online stores. (And other projects that I’m working on behind the scenes.) I’ve set some “lofty” goals. But by structuring and not wasting my time, even if it’s at night with the TV on, I’m working on “something”. Most people who don’t attain their goals are squandering their time. We are all given the same 24 hours in a day. The difference in a successful person and one who isn’t is; what are you doing with your time. Currently, at night I’m knitting a pair of socks that are my own pattern. Once they are done, pictures will be taken, edited and the pattern written. It will then be sold at one of my stores. http://www.zibbet.com/SusieRoseDesigns Then onto the next.
Reach for the stars! If you miss, at least you will fall onto the moon.
